Diet is going down the toilet!

Hi Blog,

Well, my diet efforts have officially not worked. I haven't budged one kilo, and it's hard to imagine why I haven't put on weight! Well, I have, but not more.

The only exercise I've been getting is my weekly Pilates class. I don't get a chance to walk, mainly because my business partner give's me filthy looks if I dare stop working during the day for even a moment.

When I get home, if I get home at a decent hour, there's just no time to get on my exercise bike. I'm tired, after dinner I'm so exhausted I just want to sit down for the hour before I have to go to bed, not exercise.

Then there's my knitting and crochet. It's the one thing in life that I'm enjoying at the moment, and I just don't get enough time to spend on it, and when I do, I get filthy looks, this time from DH because he too thinks I should be working, or cleaning the house (which is down right disgusting right now).

I tried to make my hexagons with a 4mm hook only to find with that hook the two colours work up to different sizes, where with the 3.5mm they didn't. I'm not sure why that is, or what to do because I can't make an afghan out of hexagons that aren't the same size!

I also want to start a Crochet-A-Long on Crochetville. They're making squares from the Jan Eaton Book "200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws, and Afghans: Crochet Squares to Mix and Match". I bought this book last year from www.amazon.com as it wasn't available in Australia at that time. To date I've not made anything from this book, but I'd love to start. I've got so much scrap yarn that I think I might do the odd block when I'm bored of my other WIP's (which include; Dad's knitted blanket, hexagon afghan, 2 x Cross Stitches and a doily).

I've also bought the yarn for a knitted jumper I want to make. It sounds stupid, but for all my 20 years knitting (I began when I was 10), I've only ever knitted one toddlers jumper. I'm terrified of having to follow a pattern. I don't know what the terms mean, and I really wish I had someone to show me.

Anyway, best get going...work to do and all! I'm getting the evil eye even now.

Mandy
